MINISTRY DEVELOPMENT CENTRE
The Ministry Development Centre (MDC) represents a resource-rich hub on a 27-acre piece of property, just outside the city of Nagua, DR. Purchased in 2010, God has provided our ministry with this MDC “multi-tool” to extend our reach as we Empower, Develop, and Mentor Communities, Leaders, and Families.
The Ministry Development Centre (or M.D.C.) is a facility where local pastors, church leaders, seminary groups, ministry teams and others, can come to experience the presence of God, serve, be trained and be refreshed.
This facility is used for biblical training, conferences, seminars and retreats for evangelical denominations across the island of Hispaniola. The MDC (Ministry Development Centre) was officially opened in April of 2023.
The resources that run out of the M.D.C. include: the M.D.C. Retreat Centre, the Agricultural Sustainability Farm, Team Hosting, and Relief and Development.
M.D.C. RETREAT CENTRE
Since the spring of 2023, when we held the dedication celebration of the Ministry Development Centre, this facility has become a significant blessing to EDMC and to local churches and ministries throughout the region.
The M.D.C. Retreat Centre provides a pristine, tranquil location for both international and national ministries to run conferences and retreats in a safe, connected environment with all the needed amenities.
The M.D.C. Retreat Centre facility is made up of 1* dormitory building with 2 large rooms, bathrooms and showers that can comfortably accommodate 15 men and 15 women in separate spaces, a kitchen / dinning room building, a large multi-use meeting hall for conferences, a storage / maintenance building with receiving dock and a NEXT GEN multi-use pad for sports and activities (pad is designed for tennis, basketball, volleyball and street hockey.
This facility is lush with many tropical flowers, fruit trees, and beautiful gardens where visitors can enjoy a true Caribbean experience and the presence of God.
*Our goal is to have 5 dorm buildings in total. The cost of one (1) dorm building is approximately $100,000
M.D.C. EXPANSION PLANS
Conference and Training Centre
Our expansion plans for the Ministry Development Centre includes a 1000-person conference centre, facilities for EDMC’s larger seminars, and Bible Seminary Training (SETCAR). This conference facility, of which there is no other in the entire region, will also serve the pastors and different denominations of the North-East region of the DR, for their training events and conferences. This building will facilitate the core equipping ministries of EDMC, namely teaching and equipping pastors and leaders to reach the lost for Christ, through conferences, workshops, and bible seminary training.
The funds need for Phase 2 are $250,000.
RELIEF & DEVELOPMENT
The M.D.C. land-resource provides the facilities and infrastructure for arrival, sorting, storage, and distribution of Relief and Development supplies and donations shipped from overseas. The MDC serves as a place of refuge with off-grid utility capabilities in the event of a regional or wider disaster.
In addition to the physical infrastructure for relief and development efforts, we are also engaged in ongoing relief responses in our region. With the generosity and help of our donors we have been able to assist with emergency home repairs following storms, orphanage support and improvement, and many others efforts.
AGRICULTURE PROJECT
Sustainable Agriculture Development Project
As a ministry we seek to be good stewards of all God has blessed us with, whether donations, land, buildings, or vehicles. Through our passion fruit farm (which has already begun), and coconut plot (which is already producing), we seek to create income to help with monthly ministry operational costs on the ground in the Dominican Republic and consequently freeing up funds to be used for equipping local leadership and communities.
In April 2017 we broke ground on 3.5 acres of land to prepare the land for passion fruit vines.

Three times a year the coconuts are harvested.
The land is already producing profit from coconut harvests which helps cover some of our operating costs.
HISTORY OF THE M.D.C.
In 2012, EDMC was presented with an incredible offer to purchase 27 acres of prime land just outside the city of Nagua! Through a series of miracles, God provided the funds and favour with the former owners, and we are now blessed to be owners of this property, which is now the hub of all national and international operations for EDMC.
The construction of the Ministry Development Centre, began in the fall 2019, and we are excited to have 4 of the main buildings completed.- 1 dorm, kitchen/dinning room, meeting hall and storage building.
In April 2023, we held our official Grand Opening of the M.D.C.
