  L.E.A.D.

Our L.E.A.D. initiative stands for
Leadership Equipping And Development. L.E.A.D. is the umbrella under which all our teaching and training ministries and mentorship relationships sit for Dominican and Haitian pastors and leaders - SETCAR Bible Seminary, METP, Women of Destiny, Regional Conferences (Fire in My Bones), Pastoral Care, local training workshops, and more.

Our teaching and training ministries are divided into three categories - FORMAL, NON-FORMAL & INFORMAL

SET CAR

    SET CAR BIBLE SEMINARY

SET CAR Bible Seminary is our formal ministry preparation entity. The goal of this Spanish-speaking seminary, Seminario Evangélico Teológico del Caribe (SET CAR), is to empower, develop and mentor national pastors and leaders, providing the best available evangelical ministry preparation program that is both affordable for the majority of believers and recognized by other mainstream national evangelical denominations and Institutes.

SET CAR offers an in-person enrolment of students and a distance education (virtual learning) enrolment of students. The seminary has experienced net growth in the total number of students enrolled in programs over the last few years.

In 2019, SETCAR entered an accreditation agreement with the Assemblies of God. This has given us a sound reputation nationally and has increased our enrolment from Assemblies of God churches. Accreditation talks with the Free Methodist and Church of God denominations are ongoing at a high level with the education departments of both. God willing, SET CAR will be the first seminary to achieve this multi-denominational approval.

SETCAR raises approximately 70% of its budget through tuition and other fees and is the recipient of Timothy Fund scholarships, which enables many students to study at SETCAR who, otherwise, would not be able to afford this valuable training. These scholarships have been an incredible blessing to the continued operation of SETCAR and we are deeply grateful to GlobalED for facilitating this.

METP

   MINISTRY ESSENTIALS TRAINING PROGRAM

The Ministry Essentials Training Program (M.E.T.P.) is an "equipping solution" created by GlobalEd Institute and Summit Pacific College's Extension Studies Department to offer a structured, non-formal, Christian ministry training program for ministry leaders in international contexts who have little or no access to formal theological education.

We launched the M.E.T.P. program in the Dominican Republic in 2022. Our team translated the program into the Spanish language and trained teachers to lead the program. Since 2022, we have graduated 4 cohorts of students from this program and have seen how beneficial this program is to students, leaders and communities.

This valuable program intends to produce biblically informed, practically skilled, character-based, Christian leaders who continue to grow in servant leadership for the sake of those they lead.

PASTORAL CARE

   PASTORAL CARE

Our vision is to empower, develop, and mentor pastors and leaders so that they may flourish and thrive—both in their personal lives and in their ministry. At the heart of this vision is a deep commitment to relationship. We believe that healthy, effective ministry begins with strong, trusted relationships, not only with pastors, but also with their spouses and families. From its beginning, EDMC has intentionally prioritized PASTORAL CARE - relational ministry as a foundational value.

Through regular connection, presence, and prayer, these relationships allow us to understand the real and present circumstances pastors are facing, to walk alongside them in seasons of challenge, and to offer encouragement, mentorship, and spiritual support. Over time, many of these relationships grow into deep friendships—becoming sources of comfort, strength, wisdom, accountability, and hope. For pastors serving in remote or isolated contexts, this relational support has been especially meaningful, offering reassurance that they are not alone in their calling.

Large and small Training Conferences are another key aspect of Pastoral Care. Each year we host approximately 8 FIRE IN MY BONES leadership conferences for pastors, spouses and key church leaders, as well as several smaller regional gatherings, trainings and workshops for leaders.

We are also committed to walking alongside pastors and leaders who are responding to God's call to establish churches. To date, we have had the privilege to participate in the construction and renovation of more than 80 churches.

   WOMEN OF DESTINY

WOMEN OF DESTINY (W.O.D.) is a ministry established in 2008 to EQUIP and EMPOWER women in ministry with the vision to build relationships across evangelical denominational lines and to foster love and mutual support among women serving in ministry.

At its core, Women of Destiny exists to cultivate deep, Christ-centered relationships and to call women into a growing awareness of their God-given identity and purpose. Through intentional discipleship, leadership development, and shared mission, the ministry seeks to see women equipped, released, and sent—confidently stepping into their callings to influence the Church, their communities, and the nations.

Women of Destiny is run be a committee of local pastoras and leaders. The committee follows a rotating model in which one year is designated for a retreat and the following year for a missions trip,. Each year is also filled with many local, valuable, events, seminars, trainings and activities. We are inspired by the doors God continues to open and look ahead with faith and expectation as more women are launched into ministry and missions around the world.
